تم بناء هذه الكاتدرائية على الطراز القوطي خلال فترة امتدت 250 عاماً وذلك ابتداء من منتصف القرن الثالث عشر ميلادي.
تقام العديد من المناسبات الرسمية في هذه الكاتدرائية كحفل زواج الملكة الحالية اليزابيث الثانية، كما تستقبل الكاتدرائية ما يفوق المليون زائر سنوياً إما كسائحين أو ليشاركوا في القداديس اليومية التي تقام فيها.

This Gothic cathedral was completed over a 250 years period that started in the middle of the 13th century.
Many state events take place at the Abbey, and that included the marriage of the existing Monarch Queen Elizabeth II.
The Abbey receives one million visitors a year, who come either as tourists or as worshippers attending the daily services inside it.
