إفتتح هذا المسرح في عام 1834 وتم تجديده بشكل شبه كامل في بداية القرن العشرين، حيث أضحى مكان إستضافة مسابقة ملكة جمال العالم خلال الفترة 1951 – 1968.
تعرض بمسرح لايسيوم حالياً المسرحية الموسيقية الشهيرة «الأسد الملك» وذلك للسنة الخامسة عشرة على التوالي.

First opened in 1834, the theatre went through a massive restoration process in the early years of the twentieth century, and became the host for the Miss World contest from 1951 to 1968.
Today, the 2,100 seats capacity Lyceum Theatre is showing “The Lion King” musical for the 15th year running.
